What is the Divine Wild Wisdom Gods and Goddesses podcast about?
This podcast is inspired by deep sacred nature connection. Each month two cards are drawn, one each for a god and goddess. The readings are inspired by the first Forest Heart Wild Wisdom Nature Connection Article of the month. It is a wonderful thing to be able to celebrate the glittering feminine and in this day and age it is essential. However, I feel there would be something of deep significance missing were we not to celebrate the divine masculine also. We need balance in the world. Now some may argue that here in modern society we have had patriarchal rule for far too long. My response to that is to say that everyone suffers when there is an imbalance. This is our small way we can redress that balance both within and without.
What Inspired the Divine Wild Wisdom Podcast?
I am indebted to my beloved friend and mentor the late Anna Ziman. Featured in the Times and Guardian national UK newspapers as well as many magazines, she was called “a Big Name in the goddess world” by the Times. It was an honour to be both her assistant and protégé. Her goddess retreats were legendary, below see two images from the above newspapers. They were inspirational and changed lives. It was an honour to be of service to Anna and to the women who attended these extraordinary events before her all too early and untimely passing at just 68 in 2018.
Since then I have carried on with all I learned from Anna in my own work. I did write a whole series of articles about deep nature connection tree teaching sessions with goddess readings inspired by the teaching, weaving in the story of a goddess, a blessing and a prayer. It was this work that has inspired my new book soon to be published that explores a year of sacred nature connection with the Celtic Gods and Goddesses.
Now that our community is here on Substack I have also decided, aside from writing, to journey into podcasting, an entirely new venture celebrating ancient wisdom and our deep connection with nature.
How does the God and Goddess Oracle Reading Work Each Month?
The session is begun by me setting the scene with candles, incense and an altar. First we read the months’ first Wild Wisdom article and then I shuffle the goddess cards. I pull a card and then speak about what draws me in about her. I then read from the book about the goddess, going deeper into the detail of the card and weaving this in with the Wild Wisdom Nature Connection Article. I then do the same for the God. Finally, I discuss how the pairing maybe working together and how we might apply this for our month ahead.
You, dear listeners, are actively encouraged to explore each god and goddess further, to look at, and celebrate, the culture from whence they come. We are a global community with members in the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the Americas. This is the reason we have cards that celebrate gods and goddesses from all around the world.
How Can I Gain Support from the Gods and Goddesses each month?
First of all, by listening to the podcast. Once you have been introduced to the god and goddess, you can choose to work with both or just with one for the month.
Suggestions:
· Create an altar dedicated to them
· Print out a picture of them to really help you visualise them.
· Read the first Wild Wisdom article of the month again
· Make notes from the podcast of what particularly draws/inspires you and what lessons you could apply for the month.
· Feel in to your own observations
· Look at what is going on in your life at present and how the reading might enable you to gain insights.
· You can add comments to the podcast and ask questions or share insights with us.
Which God and Goddess Decks Do You Use?
For the goddesses I use ‘The Goddess Oracle’ by Amy Sophia Marashinsky and illustrated by Hrana Janto. For the gods I use ‘Gods and Titans – Guidebook’ by Stacey Demarco with illustrations by Jimmy Manton.
For each podcast photographs are shared of the altar and the cards featured with the god and goddess who have chosen to reveal themselves.
However, this is not just a straight card reading only using the books. The sets of cards are combined with my insights gained from our first monthly Wild Wisdom article (these are free for everyone) and weaving in my own observations from that and from my own personal experiences gathered from working with the divine over the years.
